The major school district for Lenexa is the Shawnee Mission School District. However, some
areas in the city attend the De Soto School District or the Olathe School District.
The Shawnee Mission School District is the third largest school district in Kansas with more than 27,000 students and 4,300 employees. The district consists of 34 elementary schools, five middle schools, and five high schools. The district also includes Horizons High School, an Early Childhood Education Center, Signature Programs at the Center for Academic Achievement, and the Career and Technical Campus.
